RobotsEAST 2012

RobotsEAST 2012 Competition Results

Hello all,

Thank you once again to everyone who came to the 2012 RobotsEAST Competition, "Under Fire".  This year, 11 schools from Nova Scotia, P.E.I., and New Brunswick competed to collect (or get rid of!) diamonds and lava that erupted from a four foot tall volcano.  We would like to congratulate all the teams who participated, with special congratulations to Team KRUSH and their robot KRUSH 3.0 from Kensington Intermediate Senior High School for winning the RobotsEAST 2012 Atlantic Championship!  We would also like to congratulate the Baratbelles and their robot Baratbot from Sacred Heart School of Halifax for winning both the Best Engineered Robot and Multi-Media awards, as well as Les Olympiens and their robot RODY from École L'Odyssée for winning the Most Innovative Strategy Award.

Full competition results may be found here.  Photos of the competition will also be posted soon, and if you have any to contribute, please feel free to send them to us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  We will be sending the mentors an email asking for feedback, and we hope to see all of you next year at RobotsEAST 2013 for what we believe will be an even more exciting challenge!

 Best,

 Allison, Piotr, Dainis, and Alex

RobotsEAST Competition Results - Coming Soon!

Hello all!

Thank you for coming to the 2012 RobotsEAST Competition.  We had a great time and we were really happy to see so many teams and robots competing with such innovative designs.

Two of our organizers are currently in Michigan competing with the Dalhousie Formula SAE team, and won't be back for a few days.  Therefore, we apologize for the delay in putting up competition results, but they will be available within the next week.  Thank you for your patience, and we hope to see all of you next year!

Day 1 of Competition!

Welcome all!

We are at the Dalplex fieldhouse setting up for the 2012 RobotsEAST Competition.  When you arrive, please bring your team and your robot through the side bay doors - there will be someone there to greet you.  For the general public, please enter through the main doors at Dalplex - there are signs directing the way to the competition.

Please note that there is some metered parking at Dalplex, and parking on the street will be free on Saturday.  If you have any problems, please do not hesitate to call Allison at (902) 495-1435.  We are very excited to see everyone!

Day 2 of Competition!

Welcome to the 17th annual RobotsEAST competition!

After an exciting (and exhausting!) day of registration and testing, our 11 teams continue to work hard at last minute fixes this morning, before the opening ceremonies at 9AM.  So far, it seems that everyone has been able to practice on the playfield, with many different innovative strategies being employed.

The Parade of Robots will begin this morning at 9AM, with competition rounds continuing all day.  The finals are (tentatively) scheduled from 4PM - 5PM today, with the Awards Presentation at 5:30PM.

Good luck to all our teams, and we look forward to seeing everyone at competition!

RobotsEAST 2012 Schedule

Hello everyone!

Under "Important Info"  is the schedule for the 2012 RobotsEAST competition - also hyperlinked here.  Please note that we have scheduled the engineering interviews and dinner times based on school location; local teams are scheduled first in case teams who are travelling from long distances are delayed.

See you at the competition!
